PASSING IT ON FOR GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK
Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is inviting you to Pass It On this year. Passing on knowledge, advice and support can help new talent to flourish, and it can give you valuable mentoring experience. And we’ll be doing our part throughout the week to help you to Pass It On through social enterprise.
We will be organising and attending events throughout GEW. We’ve detailed some key ones below.
On Monday we are attending the official GEW UK launch event hosted by Youth Business International, at the Wayra Academy in London.
And in the evening we will be at the Social Enterprise Awards hosted by SEUK.
On Tuesday we will be hosting a coffee morning for mentors and volunteers at Innospace, Manchester, providing the opportunity to network and offer ‘on the spot’ peer-to-peer support to social entrepreneurs.
On Wednesday we are hosting a #socialfutures event at the British Library, exploring the future of support for social entrepreneurs.
The event will feature Award Winners Jenny Dawson, Andre Campbell and Daniel Snell as guest speakers, along with a panel discussion from a number of key social sector players including Skoll Centre, IoD, SEUK, Ernst & Young and London Creative Labs.
You’ll be able to watch the event as a live-stream between 5 and 8pm here.
To mark Social Enterprise Day on Thursday, we are working with Social Enterprise UK at the UK Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) for an event to raise awareness about the positive contribution social enterprise is making to the economy.
We will be talking about what support is needed to enable social entrepreneurs to start-up and thrive. The event will be a series of small roundtable discussion involving social entrepreneurs and BIS officials, including Vince Cable.
And to close the week, on both Thursday and Friday we have SHINE. The inspiring unconference is back and taking over Sadler’s Wells Theatre on Rosebery Avenue in London for this two day event. This year’s SHINE is yours and you can be involved all the way through.
SHINE 2012 is all about growth, so whether you have an idea you want to grow into a reality, or you have an established social venture that is ready to grow to the next level, SHINE is here to give you all the hints, tips and advice to make it happen.
Take a look at some highlights from last year’s Shine Unconference.
If you haven’t got your ticket yet, there are still some available. Head here to get one.
How will you Pass It On?
There are thousands of events happening across the UK and all around the world as part of GEW.
