To apply for a Guardian Green Living Award you need to complete the following stages:
Stage 1: Be able to answer YES to the following questions.
- Will you learn a new skill from this project and do you have the knowledge, drive and enthusiasm necessary to make the project a success?
- Will your project have a positive impact on the environment?
- Will your project benefit people in the UK?
- Is there clear evidence of a need for it in your community?
- Are you over 16 years old?
Stage 2: Be able to answer NO to the following questions
- Are you applying on behalf of a charity, business, organisation or formal group?
- Do you want money to develop your career (e.g. for academic study) or to continue an existing project?
- Can your project proceed without funding from us?
- Is your project part of your paid employment?
- Do you want money to pay for salaries or living expenses?
- Does your project involve political campaigning, the advancement of religion or involve any activities outside the law?
Stage 3: Contact your local office
If you can answer the above questions correctly, please give us a call so that we can discuss your project with you and if you are in the London area, arrange for you to attend an informal surgery.

Once you have completed all the above stages successfully all you have to do is fill in an application form.
