About the Challenge
The Bright Ideas Challenge from UnLtd and Affinity Sutton provides funding and support to Affinity Sutton residents with ideas that could help make a difference to their communities.
Affinity Sutton is one of the biggest providers of affordable housing in England with over 55,000 homes and a 100-year history. Today over 161,000 people call an Affinity Sutton home their home. A business for social purpose we’re committed to helping people put down roots. We act as a springboard, maximising life chances for our residents and creating places for communities to thrive.
What is available?
5 Awards of up to £2,200 for individuals to get their idea off the ground and run their own project and support from a dedicated Development Manager for 10 months.
Idea generation workshops pre-application also available which could help develop your idea.
What are we looking for?
Do you have an idea that could improve the social or environmental problems faced by people in your community?
The Bright Ideas Challenge will support individuals or informal groups with projects that are aimed at:
- Bringing older and younger people together;
- Increasing social acceptance and understanding, or;
- Developing a sustainable environment.
Your project must not:
- Be part of your paid employment;
- Involve political or religious campaigning;
- Involve activities outside the law or against public policy, or anything that encourages ethnic, religious or commercial disharmony;
- Involve employing people other than yourself to carry out most of the project work;
- Be used mainly to achieve academic qualifications;
- Be used to fund living expenses.
Who can apply?
Applicants must be
- Aged 18 and over;
- An Affinity Sutton resident in Bethnal Green, Ramsden and Lewisham, and;
- Applying as an individual, or an informal group.
