Martin Wyn Griffith
Chair of the Board of Trustees
Martin was appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees of UnLtd in 2013, having become a Trustee in 2008 whilst working for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills where he led on enterprise and entrepreneurship policy.
In 2010, he retired from the Civil Service and now pursues a portfolio of interests in the voluntary, private and public sectors. He sits on UnLtd’s Investment Committee and Nominations, Remuneration and Governance Committees. He is a Non-Executive Director of Wayra UnLtd and of the Institute for Family Businesses Research Foundation.
Martin is an entrepreneurial, strategic leader who has taken both small and large organisations through a variety of different change situations – start-up, managing rapid growth, mergers, turn-around and cost cutting. He started his career in marketing at EMI Records then started and quickly grew his own pop video production company in London and Los Angeles. In 1994, he completed his MBA at Henley and pursued a career in business advice and support before being head-hunted into Government in 2002. Committed to making a difference to people’s lives, he brings valuable insights and new thinking to the organisations with which he works.
