This guidance will take you through the financial data workbook that must be uploaded as part of your application. It is intended only for applicants who have selected the stage 'I've been trading for one year or more' (applying for a Scaling Up Award). Transcripts for each video are available.
You must use our template. Microsoft Excel is recommended.
We cannot progress your application without the financial data workbook being fully completed. If after reviewing the guidance on this page, you still need support to provide this data, you can get in touch with us via the Awards page of our website.
The guidance is split into five sections:
A transcript of all videos can be accessed here. Closed captions are available for each video.
The introduction covers who the guide is for, an overview of the information that we need and why we need it, and terms we use to describe different types of income.
The overview covers the contents of the financial data workbook. It describes where formulas are built into the workbook.
This video describes how to complete the first worksheet using historical financial data for your social venture. To complete this worksheet you will need to have your financial records from the last 12 months to hand. It describes how to label the worksheet and add new headings.
This video describes how to complete the second worksheet using forecasted data for your social venture. To complete this worksheet you will need to have a realistic idea of how your social venture will perform in the next 12 months, adding in the UnLtd grant so we can see how our funding would help.
This video describes how to complete the assumptions worksheet; by explaining how you arrived at the figures in your forecast. It's your chance to help us understand how realistic your forecast is, and how well you have planned for what's ahead.
Use this checklist to ensure that you have included everything we need before uploading your financial data workbook to your application:
